Who Can Apply? Check Your Eligibility
Before you start preparing, ensure you meet all the criteria set by the DSE, Assam.
1. Educational Qualification
- You must be a Graduate or Post Graduate from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in either degree.
- You must possess a B.Ed. in Special Education recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
- Crucial Note: Degrees from off-campus or distance education institutions are not valid unless they are from KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL (Gauhati University), or Distance Education under Dibrugarh University.
2. Age Limit (as on 01-01-2025)
- General Category: 19 to 40 years
- OBC/MOBC: 19 to 43 years
- SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 19 to 45 years
- Persons with Disability (PwD): 19 to 50 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 19 to 42 years
3. Other Mandatory Requirements
- You must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- You must comply with the Assam Small Family Norms (not more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021).
- You must have an Employment Exchange Registration Number.
- If already in government service, you need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your department.
How Will the Selection Be Done?
The selection process is a two-part system:
- TET cum Recruitment Test (140 Marks): This is the main written exam. The syllabus includes:
- Pedagogy (50 marks)
- About Assam and its People (36 marks)
- General Mathematics (10th Standard) (15 marks)
- General English (30 marks)
- General Studies & Current Affairs (9 marks)
- Extra Weightage (5 Marks): You can get extra marks for:
- NCC ‘C’ Certificate (5 marks) or ‘B’ Certificate (3 marks)
- Participation in National Level Sports representing Assam (5 marks)
- Achievements in National Level Fine Arts & Cultural Activities representing Assam (5 marks)
A final merit list will be prepared based on the combined scores.
How to Apply? (Process Overview)

- Fill & Submit: Complete the online form carefully, upload all documents, and submit.
- Print Acknowledgement: Don’t forget to take a printout of the final acknowledgement page for your records.
